Justice is truth. When a neighbor, Tim Bartin, is killed and another neighbor, Joe Miller, is charged with the shooting, Adair McGee is advised to let the judicial process work. The lack of official information about the case leads to the use of social media as the main resource for information and polarizes the community. Adair is advised that the truth will come out in the end. When it doesn’t, she looks for answers. How could a man, who was not hunting, be charged by the Pennsylvania Game Commission with three violations of the hunting code? Why did the District Attorney bring this incident, classified as a misdemeanor, to the court? Why, when the state’s evidence seemed to absolve the accused, was the case prosecuted? Was the District Attorney seeking the truth or a conviction? Who shot Tim Bartin and why? This story proves once again that fact is stranger than fiction.

The casual reader will think this cannot possibly be accurate but it indeed is. I live in Amish country near this family. "Joe" has been my farrier and as a nurse I have shared information with the family. I admire the objectivity of the author. She does not make excuses for, but rather, explains how the Amish culture allows the exploitation of this man and his family. The story does not end here.Product details

Hunting Justice edition by Adair McGee Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
The book is very well researched and written, but not boring in the least. The author stays objective, although I don't know how. It is now a cold case that needs reopened. Reading all the facts, it is hard to believe how the justice system failed in this case and how this accused family carried on in the shadow of it all. God be with them all!
Definitely a must read for those who are intrigued by true happenings!
Well written and well researched. This book raises a lot of questions about this cold case in particular, and the investigation of hunting deaths in Pennsylvania in general. The author does a great job of laying out the innocence of Joe, making the reader see the facts of why this man, and his family, are innocents drug into a horrible situation. It also does a great job of making you question the authority of the PA Game Commission, and how they investigate hunting incidents.
This book is quick moving, and easy reading. It almost seems that the author is talking to you face to face. Her style is conversational but to the point.
If you are a true crime reader, a mystery buff, or are just someone who like a true life story, read this book.
one of the most interesting reads ive had in a long time and i read alot of books - i
highly recommend it to anyone- i couldnt put it down!
very interesting and well written
I read this book in one day, it is so good. True story of true crime and how the Amish are used because of their faith and trust. This is a must read and you won't be able to put it down.
this was a very spellbinding story ! I live in the town where this story takes place, plus I know the author. but that does not take away the story line and research process. This author has a way with words that holds your attention to the point that the night gets away from you !
Since I am from PA, I enjoyed the book very much. I like reading true stories and this one held my attention. Innocent people are accused and you want to see the guilty persecuted. Some officials seem to have too much power. It is time to make some changes in the laws. Will justice be found?
